If you’ve tried “everything” and nothing has worked, you’re not alone. Heartburn affects a good percentage of the population at one time or another. There are a lot of drugs, antacids, and other over the counter help out there, but if they were the majic bullet, then why does the heartburn keep coming back?
If you’re burping after you eat or bend over, you may have a condition that is more serious than just heartburn. It may be acid reflux where the acid can cause esophagus inflammation, and if it comes back to the mouth, your tooth enamel can be damaged.
Usually when a condition like heartburn keeps coming up, it may help to try and support the body by trying some natural remedies such as aloe vera liquid. Aloe is very soothing to an inflammed throat. Chlorophyll in green drinks such as Barley Grass has anti-inflammatory benefits as well. Ginger Root is a tried and true help, either chewed or chopped and made into a tea.
A small amount of Apple Cider Vinegar in a cup of warm water during your meal should help because many researchers found that digestive problems occur because your stomach has “too little acid”, not too much.
If you frown at the thought of using any of the above , you can visit your local health food store and pick up some digestive enzymes. Many people have difficulty digesting carbohydrates. Since so many of the most popular foods all of us enjoy are carbohydrates, digestion can become a major issue. Eating simply organic foods and vegetables helps digestion because vegetables have their own enzymes and can do a lot of the hard work for your body.
Normally it takes at least ten hours to properly digest meat protein so digestive enzymes that contain bromelain and ox bile will be of great benefit. Most enzyme supplements also have a full spectrum of digestion help and would be safer and gentler on the stomach.
If you resort to prescription drugs, just know that while there may be no other choice, depending on a diagnosis from your Naturopath or Physician, these meds can have side effects worse than the condition you’re trying to treat.
If you tried some of the remedies and you’re still uncomfortable after a meal, avoid fried, greasy foods, limit sweets and starchy foods;Â chances are you’ll experience welcomed relief immediately.
